"Cosmic Phil came on a rare & welcome visit to Bad Sekta HQ sometime during the summer of 2009 - as always, he was fully enthused when talking about his newest project, the album ”Midnight Butterfly”. He handed over a CDR & asked us to give it a listen (although as usual he couched it in much more interesting terms). All of his music was very deeply planned out to assist the listener to go on inner journey, the “vision quest” he often talked about... This album was no exception to the rule, combining his legendary sample library with thick layers of drifting ambience & a heavily shamanic influence to produce a highly meditative & contemplative body of work. Anyway, Phil was a wicked bloke whose presence we sorely miss from our lives, so we now present this, his last release, in his memory".
